Monument to A. S. Pushkin

On June, 6, 1987 the monument to the greatest Russian poet Olexander Pushkin was opened in a comfortable Birch square in Poltava. He glorified our city in the same name poem «Poltava». The bronze bust of the poet is set on an easy granite pedestal among birches and young firtrees (the sculptor is N. Kogan, the architects are V. Vadimov and G. Zil’berblik). The height of monument is 4,5 meters.

This monument is a sign of gratitude of poltavites and the honour to the prominent poet. Round the square is a small figured fence, the lamps, the lavas, which remind those are made in the gardens of Lyceum.
